Rivelin & Higgar Tor
Here's some photos from recent-ish climbs, all of which mean something more than just having 'done' a given climb. The superb Croton Oil (HVS, ***) at Rivelin, right; The glorious view whilst belaying sat on the top of Rivelin Needle is above.
The File (VS 4c, ***) at Higgar Tor... A fight of a route if ever there was one, especially for someone like me who can't jam for toffee!
It is said that those who can jam well have perfect skin on their hands; those that can't have trashed hands...
Cloggy
Great/Bow Slab Combination, Clogwyn D'ur Arddu (Cloggy), North Wales.
Phil and Gaz took us on our first 'proper' multi-pitch route... (see Becky's climbing page for more pics). Took us about 5 hours - quite a while really but its 500ft of climbing the wrong side of vertical for my liking and I led every pitch so the changeovers took a bit longer. Enough of the excuses for being slow, its a great route with great views!
This photo shows Cloggy and the route we climbed (Its a bit easier to see the line if you click it for the larger version). You can clearly see the two slabs 'Great Slab' and 'Bow Slab' that this route is a combination of.
