Telendos Beach. (225KB)

Telendos Beach. Picturesque, bounded by olive trees and with fish in the sea nearby making it good for snorkelling.

Sponges, Kalymnos (205KB)

Before the climbers and the rest of the tourist industry came along, Kalymnos was well renowned for its sponges. This display was in one of the shop fronts - I don't think they noticed me take the photo, but I bought a sponge anyway...

Tufas at Ghosts Kitchen, Kalymnos (224KB)

Climbing on Kalymnos is basically all about Tufas. These ones here are a bit abnormal as they grow more horizontally than downwards, but this does make them good for sitting on!

The Grande Grotta, Kalymnos. (245KB)

The Grande Grotta, Kalymnos. One of the major climbing areas, with quite a few hard routes in the back of the cave. One of my favourite climbs from the holiday (ivi, F7b) goes up the inside of the cave on the left.

Sunset over Telendos, Kalymnos (70KB)

Sunset over Telendos, Kalymnos. The sunsets were lovely; never one to complain about the weather... a cloud or two would add a bit to this shot!

The approach on the ferry into Pothia, Kalymnos. (252KB)

Arriving into Pothia, Kalymnos, on the ferry. Kalymnos is basically a giant rock in the sea and there's precious little flat land to build on, so every available space (and then some...) is used.

The beach in Massouri, Kalymnos (209KB)

The beach in Massouri, Kalymnos. To the right at the back of the photo you can see some of the crags and the 'Grande Grotta' cave. We stayed in a hotel literally on the road below the crag, the only bummer was the angle of the hill to walk up to get there. Everything is so close together in Massouri, hopefully you can get the idea from this photo.

The Greek Flag. (100KB)

The Greek Flag, on the back of the ferry from Kos to Kalymnos.
